In offensive and defensive situations in elite tennis, players are nearly always faced with either an offensive or defensive situation. They are either controlling the point and looking to finish it or trying to hang in the point looking to turn defense into offense or, at least, to make it as difficult as possible for the opponent to win it. To improve as both an offensive and defensive player, players need opportunities to practise these situations.
