  • Learn from a world famous coach what it takes to be  successful in today’s world and how you can get a competitive advantage
  • Seek greater understanding of psychology and the new breed of athlete

I love coaching and have been doing so for a long time. One of the things about my coaching career that I have enjoyed most is watching coaching evolve and keenly observing who and why certain coaches are getting success. The key to success back in the 80’s was having the best information. But now everyone has the information - Just “Google” it. Success in the 21st century is all about understanding people! Now this article is obviously founded on a generalization. Technical and sport science knowledge will continue to grow and evolve and have great impacts on sports performance and training techniques. Just as developing the psychology of your athletes has always been hugely important. So take it with a grain of salt, but it will give you a perspective on my perceived changing nature of coaching that will at the very least spark some self reflection of your own practice.
